Zinedine Zidane insists Manchester United-linked Raphael Varane is not for sale

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane states that Raphael Varane is not for sale in the middle of tips that Manchester United are lining up a move for the centre-back

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has branded Raphael Varane “untransferable” in the middle of tips that Manchester United are lining up a move for the main defender.

A recent report claimed that United were preparing to make an approach for the France international, who only has 18 months delegated run on his contract at the Bernabeu.

Nevertheless, Zidane has strongly rejected rumours that the World Cup winner might be permitted to leave Los Blancos in the near future.

“It’s not just me [who wants to keep him],” Zidane informed press reporters. “He is part of this club, we were very fortunate to be able to bring him to Madrid.

” He has a great career, he’s accomplished a lot since he’s been here. Naturally, he is untransferable for the club, for the coach that I am, for individuals in general.

“That’s clear and unambiguous. Now we can’t stop people from talking. They’re not just talking about Varane, but about all the players, Real Madrid ones and others. But for Varane, my position is clear, and it’s the same as the club’s position.”

The 27-year-old has made 329 appearances for Madrid since showing up from Lens in 2011, winning 3 La Liga titles and 4 Champions League crowns in the process.
